Yolanda Patterson, MD, FAAP was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. After finishing high school she moved to Missouri where she earned a BA in Biological Sciences from the University of Missouri, Columbia. She then earned her degree in Medical Technology from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. She worked as a Med Tech before starting Medical School as well as during her first 2 years of medical school.
She graduated from Meharry Medical College in Nashville earning her M.D. Her Pediatric Residency training was at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital of St. Louis University. After finishing residency she started her Pediatric Career as she served as a Major in the Air Force at Holman Air Force. Following her service in the Air Force she started her Pediatric Practice in Montgomery and then joined Charles Henderson Child Health Center in 2004.
Her medical interests are in child wellness, including mental health wellness, and growth and development. She is married to a Retired Firefighter who is now a Charter Bus Driver. She and her husband have 2 dogs which are their 4th and 5th dogs as a couple. She is actively involved in Daughters of the King and other ministries in the Episcopal Church.
